The Associate Director of Information Systems of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) gave high praise to the MacroSys web development team for their redesign of the BTS Product Distribution Center.
BTS's online Product Distribution Center (PDC) allows users to order print, CD, and other types of media products published by the agency (most products are free). Users may set up an account to streamline future orders. They may also access online versions of many BTS publications through the site. Products are organized by category and are fully searchable.
The MacroSys web development team also designed an administrative site where PDC personnel may expedite and check the status of orders, enter new products and their descriptions into the database, and update product stock quantities.
The PDC was developed using Oracle XDK, SQL, XML, XSLT, and Java.
