MacroSys has been awarded a contract to provide library services to the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC), a research facility of the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). TFHRC provides FHWA and the world highway community with advanced research and development related to new highway technologies.
MacroSys librarians will perform literature searches and reviews; conduct retrospective cataloging for the FHWA Research Library; prepare bibliographies; make recommendations for developing the collection; and provide electronic resources, general references and referrals. MacroSys's Exploratory Advanced Research librarian will also provide references and convene activities to feed longer-term, higher risk research with potentially dramatic breakthroughs for improving the durability, efficiency, and environmental impact, productivity, and safety aspects of highway and intermodal transportation systems.
