MacroSys, LLC, is looking for a Junior Digital Communications Specialist to support outreach and communications for a federal statistical agency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working with numbers and data, and a strong writer who can turn technical information into clear content for the public. Day to day, you will help draft press releases and other outreach materials, keep the client’s website current in Drupal, and track communications activities so nothing falls through the cracks. This is a great opportunity for an early-career professional who enjoys both writing and keeping things organized.
General Responsibilities:

Drafting, editing, and formatting press and news releases, often on tight, fixed deadlines.

Making routine updates to agency web pages in Drupal and helping create new web and digital content.
-
Tracking outreach tasks, deadlines, requests, and shared mailbox messages.

Helping maintain the agency’s annual statistical release schedule and website content inventory.
-
Compiling and analyzing website and social media analytics, media inquiries, media clips, and publication orders and summarizing the results in regular reports.

Writing social media posts, email messages, and web page text for technical and non-technical audiences.
-
Creating informational graphics and other visual products, along with accompanying alt text, that meet Section 508 accessibility standards.
Minimum Requirements:

1 to 3 years of professional experience in:
-
Writing and editing: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience drafting press releases, news content, or similar materials.

Web content: Experience updating websites in Drupal.

Email and social media: Experience with GovDelivery and writing social media content.
-
Visual and digital products: Experience creating graphics and digital products, including accessible content that meets Section 508 standards.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track many tasks and deadlines at once.

Comfort working with numbers and data.

Ability to explain technical information in plain language.

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Ability to obtain a federal Public Trust or security clearance, if required.

Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice-to-Haves:

Experience supporting a federal agency, especially in transportation or with federal statistical data.

MacroSys, LLC, is looking for a mid-to-senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team building enterprise web applications and data platforms for federal clients. The ideal candidate is a strong generalist with solid backend, database, cloud, and CI/CD fundamentals who can pick up our stack quickly and take ownership of their work with limited supervision. Depth in enterprise web development or data engineering is a plus, not a requirement.
General Responsibilities:

Designing, building, and maintaining enterprise web applications and data pipelines/data platforms.
-
Working with relational databases and deploying to AWS or Azure.
-
Automating infrastructure and deployments through infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
-
Owning features end to end: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and support on a small team.
-
Writing tested, maintainable code, participating in code reviews, and troubleshooting issues in production.
-
Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and clients to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Minimum Requirements:

At least 4 years of hands-on professional software development experience, including:
-
Backend development: Strong proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, or Python, and willingness to work in the others.

APIs and integration: Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with databases and external data sources.

Frontend development: Experience with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework (Angular, React, or similar).

Experience with:

Database: Postgres, SQL Server, or Oracle.

Cloud: AWS or Azure.

Source control and CI/CD: Git plus GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.

Experience writing automated tests (unit/integration) and working on an Agile/Scrum team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working directly with clients and non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Enterprise web stack: Spring Boot or ASP.NET, Hibernate/JPA or Entity Framework, and Angular or React.

Infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation), Docker/containers, and secure development practices for federal systems.

Public sector or government consulting experience, especially with transportation or federal statistical data.

Experience building LLM applications (RAG or agentic).

Certifications in Databricks Data Engineer, Databricks Generative AI Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, and/or AWS Data Engineer.
